Processing with GCPs

 Processing with GCPs is an important part of working with aerial imagery. Using GCPs allows you to have the most accurate data. In this activity, we processed GCPs using the Pix4d photogrammetry software. It is a fairly simple process where after initial processing you match the digital points generated by Pix4d to the physical points in the images thereby correcting your data. After processing the data we were asked to create a map with a table of the GCP Data as well as detail insets for each GCP. Here is my map:

  Data Collection The data for the final project was collected on the morning of April 19 2023 at the Purdue Wildlife Area located at the coordinates: 40.44759088186567, -87.05252047391016, and is approximately a 7-mile drive from the Purdue University Airport. The plot of land we were given to collect data from had an area of approximately 58,000 square meters. The data was collected using the following materials: A smartphone with the Pix4d capture and DJI GO 4 apps active, a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone, Aeropoint GCPs(Ground Control Points), and a smartphone with the Esri Fields app. Step 1 of Data collection involved placing and activating the Aeropoint GCPs evenly throughout the mission area while simultaneously collecting the placement of the GCPs with the Esri Fields app for comparison and metadata purposes. Raster Data Analysis

 During this activity we used a combination of the raster calculator, slope, and aspect mapp tools to find different aspects from the Litchfield dregde operation datasets how ever only a few datasets are worth looking at in my opinion so those are the two I will show here.This kind of analysis can be used in multiple field from construction of ensuring worker safety to archeology for identifying sites with the highest likelihood of former human civilization. The first is a map of the pile on 08/27/2017 highlighting areas with a slope greater than 30 degrees and an elevation greater than 245 meters: The second is a map showing all areas on 8/27 that are between 233 and 234 meters in elevation: Third a map showing all flat areas from 8/27: and last a map showing all south-facing slopes with a slope of greater than 30 degrees from the 07/22 dataset:
